Privacy Policy

This is a small studio site with a handful of forms on it. This page explains what we collect when you use it, why, who sees it, and how to make us delete it.

01

Who we are

chrisstrange.com is the portfolio and marketing site of Strange Studio, an independent digital product studio operated by Chris Strange. "We" and "us" in this policy mean Strange Studio, which is responsible for the information described here.

Our business address is 49 White Birch Rd, Redding, CT 06896, United States. You can also write to hello@chrisstrange.com with "Privacy" in the subject line, and we'll come back to you.

02

Information you give us

Most of what we hold is what you type into a form and send us. That includes the contact form, the App Finder, the Start a Project form, our vertical landing pages (home services, professional services, healthcare, commercial services and venues and events) and the intake step inside a live demo.

In practice that means:

  • Your name, business name, email address and phone number.
  • Your website, your industry, your location and roughly how many people you employ.
  • What you're trying to fix, how you handle it today, the outcome you want, and any notes or questions you add.
  • Where the inquiry came from (for example which page or campaign), so we know what's working.
03

Please don't send us sensitive data

Our marketing forms never ask for medical history, symptoms, prescriptions or insurance identifiers, and they aren't the place to send financial account numbers, government identifiers or other confidential records. If a project genuinely needs that kind of data, we set up a separate process built for it.

Anything you do type into a free-text box is stored as you wrote it. Keep it to what's needed to describe the problem.

04

Information collected automatically

When someone opens a demo link we created for them, the app records a first-party event: that the demo was viewed, when, which section was reached and whether a call-to-action was clicked. That's tied to the demo link, not to your identity, and it's how we know whether a concept landed.

Our hosting platform also keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, which we use for security and abuse prevention. Our forms apply rate limits by email address and per hour to block automated spam.

We don't run advertising trackers or third-party analytics on this site.

05

How we use your information

To reply to you, to prepare a quote, a proposal or a personalised concept demo, to send the confirmation and follow-up emails you'd expect after an inquiry, to keep a record of the conversation, to screen out spam and abuse, to improve the site, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.

06

AI and automated screening

Inquiries submitted through our forms are screened by an AI model, which flags unsolicited vendor pitches, link-building offers, gibberish and abusive submissions so a real person can answer the real ones.

Flagged submissions are stored and reviewed rather than deleted, so a legitimate inquiry can be recovered. This screening never makes a decision with legal effect about you, and no one is refused service by a machine alone.

07

Emails we send

If you submit a form we may email you a confirmation and follow up about your project. Outreach goes to a named, verified business contact.

If you reply to an email from us, we read that reply in our business email account so we can answer it. If you'd rather we stopped contacting you entirely, say so in a reply and we'll put you on a do-not-contact list.

08

Text messages (SMS)

If you give us a mobile number and tick a consent box on a form, you're opting in to text messages from Strange Studio. Marketing messages (promotions, new project openings, case studies and offers) are a separate choice from transactional messages (project updates, appointment reminders, estimates and account alerts). You can choose either, both or neither, and every form on this site works without a number at all.

Consent to receive texts is never a condition of working with us. Message frequency varies by subscription type, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of any or all messages at any time, or reply HELP for help. You can also email hello@chrisstrange.com and we'll take you off the list.

We don't share or sell your mobile number, or your text opt-in and consent data, with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, and your consent covers messages from Strange Studio only. We keep the record of your consent while we text you and for a reasonable period after you opt out, so we can show you were removed.

09

Who we share it with

We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share it with data brokers or advertisers.

We use a small number of service providers to run this site, and they process information only on our instructions: Base44 for hosting, database and transactional email, and Google for the business email account we send and receive from. Their own privacy terms also apply to their processing.

We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of the studio, our clients or the public.

10

Who can see it

Inquiries land in an internal sales system that is restricted to administrators. Only people who need your information to answer you, quote you or run a project with you can open it.

11

How long we keep it

We keep inquiry and project records for as long as we need them to deal with your request and to keep sensible business and tax records. If a conversation goes nowhere, we may delete it sooner.

Ask us to delete your information and we will, unless we're required to keep a record for a legal or accounting reason. If that's the case we'll tell you.

12

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for marketing. Email hello@chrisstrange.com with "Privacy" in the subject line and we'll action it, usually within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first so we don't hand your information to someone else.

If you're in the UK or the EU, or in California, you have additional rights under local law, including access, correction, deletion, portability, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We honour those requests regardless of where you live.

13

Children

This site is for businesses and their owners. It isn't directed at anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we'll delete it.

14

Security

We keep access to your information restricted and use reputable platforms to store it. No email or internet transmission is completely secure, which is another reason not to send sensitive data through a website form.

15

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of the page. Material changes affecting information we already hold will be communicated to the people they affect.
